If you are a parent or community member and have a concern related to an Orangeburg County school, please begin by contacting the school principal. If the issue cannot be resolved, your concern will be forwarded to the district director in the area your concern pertains. Should further assistance with resolving your concern be needed, our District Ombudsman is here to help!
Social Emotional and Mental Health Offerings

Our Student Services Department offers support on a wide range of issues impacting young people, as well as adults. We invite you to review our library of mental health and social emotional support topics. These video overviews represent the most widely requested counseling sessions that are available for students and staff. SCDE PARENT CLIMATE SURVEY
Parent/Guardians- Please take the time to complete the Parent Climate survey through the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).
K-12 parents can take the survey up until May 27th in Ecollect in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Parents may submit one survey for each student, according to SCDE guidelines. Each survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Please read each statement and choose the best response from the choices given. As you read each statement, please consider the entire year rather than recent or isolated events. Your feedback will help to identify areas of strengths and opportunities for growth and define opportunities to improve parental involvement at your school and in the state.

4K ENROLLMENT NOW IS OPEN FOR 2022-2023
Orangeburg County Public School District offers 4K to qualifying students as a Child Early Reading and Development Education Program (CERDEP) partner. To apply for 4K, you may pick up a registration packet at the Primary or Elementary School in your attendance zone, or download the application using the information on our 4K webpage.

SUPERINTENDENT FOSTER & CHIEF GIBBS ENCOURAGE STUDENTS
Students in many areas of the nation are facing disciplinary consequences from their involvement in the “Devious Licks” TikTok challenges. In an effort to acknowledge our awareness of the challenges while discouraging our students from participating in these acts, Superintendent Foster and Chief Gibbs from our Sheriff’s Office have created a short video for students. WHAT IS THE EMERGENCY BROADBAND BENEFIT PROGRAM?
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for qualifying low-income households. If your household is eligible, you can receive:
* Up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals.
* Up to a $75/month discount if your household is on qualifying Tribal lands
* A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)Click on the word "information" to see if you are eligible.

OCSD TO PROVIDE “HIRE” EDUCATION TO FIVE STUDENT APPRENTICES
Orangeburg County School District is hiring five rising 11th grade students who will complete two-year apprenticeships for positions including Accounting Technician, Automotive Technician, Building Maintenance, Communications Specialist, and Information Technology (IT) Technician.

RURAL DISTRICT UNDERGRADUATE LOAN FORGIVENESS PROGRAM
The SC Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement’s Undergraduate Loan Forgiveness Program is available to all classroom teachers in districts eligible to participate in the Rural Teacher Recruitment and Retention Initiative (RRI). Orangeburg County School District is a 2020-21 participant in this initiative that gives classroom teachers the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 to help pay down undergraduate loan balances.
