  • OCSD State Testing Parent Refusal Form

The State Department submitted a waiver for “End of Year” testing which was denied. As a result, as a district, we will be administering SC Ready for ELA and Math 3-8 grades, SC PASS Science 4th and 6th grades, EOC for 8th-12th grade.

There are benefits to allowing your student to be tested as it will provide another opportunity to gather data so that it can be used to support your student when they return to school next year.

If a family chooses to not engage in that assessment because of concerns related to the virus or safety, they may choose to opt out of the test. There will be no penalty to any student, teacher, school, or district that does not meet the 95% participation requirement for those assessments.

OCSD parents are asked to complete an online survey, should they wish to opt out, no later than next Tuesday, April 20.
