This year, our students in 3rd-5th grade will take SC READY (SC College-and-Career Ready Assessment), which is comprised of ELA (writing and reading) and Mathematics assessments. These assessments will be paper/pencil. Additionally, students in 4th grade will take the SCPASS (SC Palmetto Assessments of State Standards) in Science. The Science assessment will be online.

Both SC READY and SCPASS are untimed assessments. Items on SC READY (ELA) will include selected response, short answer, evidence-based selected response, and text-dependent analysis. Evidence-based selected response will require students to read a text and choose the best answer from answer choices. Text-dependent analysis will require students to read texts and draw upon the texts for their extended written responses. The Mathematics assessment items will be multiple choice. Items on SCPASS (Science) will also be multiple choice. SC READY and SCPASS assessments are aligned to our state’s academic standards.

Please make sure your child gets a good night’s rest each night before a testing day, has breakfast each morning, and arrives to school on time for testing. If a student arrives to school after testing has started, he/she will participate in make-up testing. Students who are virtual will need to come in for testing. The state assessments cannot be administered virtually.

It is your option as to whether or not your child is tested. If you don’t want your child to take the assessment, please click on the link below and complete the form. This option is for face to face and virtual students. You will need to complete a form for each of your children.

Click here if you do not want your child to come to the school to be tested.

The testing schedule is below. Testing will begin each morning at 8:30 AM. Virtual students need to be at school by 8:00 AM. Someone will contact the students’ parents after the students have completed testing so someone can come pick them up.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Roberts:
