Demography & Facilities Studies

In the 2020-2021 School Year, Orangeburg County School District commissioned outside analysts who conducted comprehensive studies related to each of the school district’s 27 campus facilities, as well as projected future enrollment. Results of the independent studies were shared with trustees in May 2021 and shared publicly through a press release (May 25, 2021). The reports have been available in their entirety since that time on our website as shown below.

Please use the navigation link to the left to review these studies as well as additional information about our school facilities and proposed improvement projects.

Winter 2022: Proposed Facility Plan Presentations

After considering all input, administration developed a potential solution to underutilization of schools as well as school facility repair costs estimated to exceed $429 million. The school board voted in December 2021 to join the administration in bringing forth a plan for further community input. A second set of Community Input Meetings were held in February 2022.

Community meetings were held throughout the county, with stakeholders invited to attend the meeting of their choice in person or virtually on our website. SPRING 2022: REVISED FACILITIES PLAN PRESENTED

The plan was met with great enthusiasm at the February 2022 meetings, however a change requested from meeting attendees in the eastern area of the county was considered and able to be incorporated. With one final change to the proposed facility solutions, district administration went back out to the community one last time for their review of the final proposal that would be before voters in November's election.
