Diamond Tyler is a shining example of what it means to lead with talent, discipline, and purpose. A proud product of Orangeburg County School District, Diamond attended Marshall Elementary School, William J. Clark Middle School, and Orangeburg Wilkinson High School, graduating with the Class of 2013. Her journey from OCSD classrooms to international stages reflects both her exceptional artistry and her unwavering commitment to excellence.

Diamond earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Claflin University in 2017 before continuing her academic and artistic training at the University of South Carolina School of Music, where she received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance in 2019.

Her operatic career began with Opera at USC, where she made her debut as La Fée in Pauline Viardot’s Cendrillon. That same year, Diamond achieved her first European debut, portraying Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with the Varna International Music Academy in Varna, Bulgaria.

Since then, Diamond has performed in diverse and prestigious venues, including engagements for national leaders such as Congressman James E. Clyburn and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. She is a contracted artist with The Company Company, Inc. (The Sound of Charleston), regularly performing selections from Porgy and Bess during the renowned Sound of Charleston Concert Series at the historic Circular Congregational Church. In 2020, she further expanded her operatic portfolio as an ensemble artist with Opera Carolina.

On June 9, 2024, Diamond debuted as a young artist with Palmetto Opera at the Koger Center in Columbia, South Carolina, performing orchestral arias under the direction of Maestro Adrian Sylveen, Assistant Conductor of the Metropolitan Opera. She continues to refine her craft as a member of Dr. Peter Barton’s private voice studio.

In December 2025, Diamond completed her second European tour, performing across Spain, Italy, and Switzerland as an international soprano, captivating audiences in theaters and cathedrals throughout the continent.

Beyond the stage, Diamond is deeply committed to education and leadership. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in K-12 Leadership at Grand Canyon University and is in the dissertation phase of her program. As a certified music educator, she is in her sixth year of teaching General Music, serving both primary and secondary students. She also sings with the choir at the Church of the Redeemer in Orangeburg and performs regularly throughout Columbia and Charleston.

Above all, Diamond is a devoted mother to her son, Jewell, who remains her greatest inspiration.

Her guiding philosophy captures her purpose and passion: “Education without salvation is damnation, so believe in something or fall for anything.”

Orangeburg County School District proudly celebrates Diamond Tyler — an alumna whose voice, leadership, and heart continue to uplift communities locally and globally.
