Career and Technical Education

CTE Overview

Career and Technology Education (CTE) is composed of a series of programs which introduce students to real world careers. These courses offer rigorous content, utilize state-of-the-art equipment and technology and engage in hands-on real world projects and activities.

Students who take four courses in a program area are considered “completers” and are eligible to wear a special cord at graduation. Many of these students participate in internships and/or apprenticeships during their capstone course. Some students also earn portable certifications in their program area.
