What we do
Provide services related to students’ social, emotional, and life adjustment to school and/or society. Provides staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance and behavior.

Social Workers
School Social Workers are the link between the school and the community in providing services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students’ academic and social success. - McKinney-Vento Act (Homeless Supportive Services): Support students who have lost housing and are now living in a shelter, motel, vehicle, camping ground, or temporary trailer; on the street; doubled-up with family or friends; or in another type of temporary or inadequate housing.
The parent should complete the form below:
- Student Residency Statement form
- Foster Care Liaison (Every Student Succeeds Act, ESSA): Assist with the educational
transition of students in foster care that serves the best interest of the child. (Please see the best interest determination attached)
- Truancy and Social work: Students between the ages of 6-17 who have accumulated unexcused absences on three (3) consecutive days or have accumulated a total of five (5) or more unexcused absences during the academic year (SC Board of Education).
