Bachelor of Arts Degree in French Master's of Secondary Education

Mrs. Monica Diouf

A native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Monica Daniels Diouf was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg. She attended Whittaker Elementary, Belleville Middle School and Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. During her years at O-W, she noticed that she had a love for French and that it came easy for her. She continued to study French at USC even though she was a business major. Shortly into her sophomore year, her mother encouraged her to change her major, and she has never regretted the decision. She was greatly influenced by teachers from every level of her educational experience including her time at university level. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Carolina and received her master's degree in Education from South Carolina State University. During the summer of 1994, prior to her student teaching experience,Madame Diouf completed a summer study program at L’institut de la Touraine in Tours, France. Madame Diouf has been teaching for 16 years. She is the proud mother to Jordan and Amanda. The same passion that she has poured into her own children, she brings to the classroom to her students. She encourages them not only to proud of language acquisition, but also to love themselves. She does not allow the words “I can’t” in her classroom. Madame Diouf is extremely grateful for the values her parents instilled in her. They encouraged her to always do her best in everything she does. She encourages her students to do the same.
