Mrs. Sheneice Smith

I believe that arts education is a vital component in the positive growth of every child.  For years, educators have pointed to the students who participated in dance, visual art, music, and Theatre as those who have a unique talent.  However, based on extended studies, we now know that learning in and through the arts develops the artistic mind and creative potential in all young people.   There is nothing that engages our brains like the Arts.  For this reason, all students should experience a quality arts education throughout their entire school years.

Every child can learn in a caring environment and deserves to enjoy a life filled with happiness and prosperity.  My passion and fervor for the arts, especially music, is observed through my delivery of instruction and expectations.  Children from different socioeconomic backgrounds learn when they are treated like the creative thinkers they are.  Involvement in arts integration has been proven through the years of its power and impact on student achievement.  All types of education reforms have been tried, and we still have a crisis in education.  When arts integration replaces all of these reforms, the problem in education will be eliminated.
