Branchville's Lady Jackets are the 2022 Class A Lower State Champions
Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) congratulates the Branchville Lady Jackets, the 2022 Class A Lower State Champions. Under the leadership of Coach Ron Nester, the Lady Jackets are undefeated in the region with a 14-0 record. Overall, they had a 28-2 season.
Coach Nester has competed in eight public school state championships and won two at Branchville, and this Saturday will make his 9th appearance. Coach Nester also won two private school state championships when he coached at Holly Hill Academy.
“This year's volleyball team is extraordinary. The team had a great season, and all the girls do well academically. The Branchville community loves volleyball and supports this team as well as our school, and we look forward to competing for another state championship,” said Mr. Charles Gregory, BHS’s Principal.
The Branchville Lady Jackets will face St. Joseph Catholic School on Saturday, November 5, at 4 pm on the campus of Dreher High School.
"Hats off to the Lady Jackets. Their tenacity, grit, and determination on and off the court are to be commended. I look forward to joining our community and cheering them on during the Championship match this Saturday, said Dr. Shawn D. Foster, Superintendent of Orangeburg County School District.
