Carolina Panthers & Bank of America Celebrate Read Across America Day at Holly Hill Elementary

ORANGEBURG S.C. – The Carolina Panthers and Bank of America are teaming up with the Orangeburg County School District to help celebrate National Read Across America Day with students at Holly Hill Elementary School on Thursday, March 2, 2023. The “Panthers Reading Spectacular” will feature a high-energy reading pep rally plus a free Scholastic Book Fair in which each Holly Hill student can select three free books. The program is designed to promote the importance of developing strong reading skills in young readers.

“The Carolina Panthers and Bank of America are committed to improving grade level reading proficiencies for young readers in our region and are excited to celebrate National Reading Across America Day with students at Holly Hill Elementary,” said Carolina Panthers director of community relations Riley Fields. “In addition to sharing important messaging to encourage good reading habits, we are excited to provide students with a free Scholastic Book Fair so that each student will have the opportunity to select three books to add to their home reading library.”

"Being able to provide unique, one-of-a-kind, but most importantly, fun experiences for our scholars, all while celebrating the love of reading, is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job as superintendent," said Dr. Shawn Foster, OCSD Superintendent. "The partnership between OCSD and the Carolina Panthers organization is one that we know will continue as we support our educators and celebrate scholars," he continued.
