ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Orangeburg County School District named Tinika Pierce-Boney as the assistant principal for Bethune-Bowman Middle/High School.
Pierce-Boney is currently a science teacher, AVID 3 teacher, and science department chair at Ridge View High School – positions she has held since 2014. She has demonstrated leadership through diverse opportunities. She has served as the science department chair, leading teachers in implementing curriculum and instruction practices, resulting in exceptional student achievement and teaching.
She also served on the school leadership team, supporting the design and implementation of professional development opportunities to enhance learning and help maintain a cohesive school vision and strategy focused on student achievement. Additionally, she supported the creation of monthly cultural events for faculty to increase morale. Finally, among many other leadership responsibilities, she represented her school on the district-wide teacher forum and was the Science National Honor Society Advisor.
Currently serving as the Ridge View High School Teacher of the Year, Pierce-Boney’s 17 years in education have prepared her to inspire and motivate scholars at a high level to ensure student success while supporting her colleagues.
Pierce-Boeny has a Bachelor of Science degree from Winston Salem State University, a master of science degree from Walden University, and an Educational Specialist degree from Arkansas State University.
“Mrs. Pierce-Boney's vast instructional experience and skill set will be an asset to Bethune-Bowman Middle/High School,” said Lakekia Jamison-Lewis, BBMH Principal.
Mrs. Pierce-Boney will begin her new role with OCSD in July 2023.
