Taphnie Sanders is Selected as the New Director of Technology for OCSD

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Taphnie Sanders as the new Director of Information Technology. Having previously served as the Technology Coordinator for OCSD, Sanders brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role.

“Mrs. Sanders has an impressive track record in our district. She is the perfect fit to lead the department and integrate technology across the curriculum to enhance the learning experience for our students," says Dr. Shawn Foster, OCSD Superintendent.

Before her recent appointment, Sanders served as the Technology Coordinator for OCSD from 2019 to 2023, where she played a critical role in implementing several key technology initiatives. Prior to that, she spent nearly two decades as a Network Administrator with Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5.

Her early career saw her as a Telecommunications Specialist at South Carolina State University, a role that shaped her approach to technology management and network communications.

"Returning to OCSD as the Director of Information Technology is a homecoming filled with profound excitement and a renewed sense of purpose. Having previously served as the Technology Coordinator, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible commitment of our educators and the boundless potential of our students,” said Taphnie Sanders.

Mrs. Sanders holds a Master's degree in Network & Communications Management with a specialization in Information Security from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from South Carolina State University.

“I am inspired by the district's mission, which resonates deeply with my own beliefs and aspirations. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that every student discovers and develops their personal talents, finds their unique purpose, and gains a platform for success," added Sanders.
