Dr. Felisha Williams to Lead Lake Marion Middle School

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Felisha Williams as the new principal of Lake Marion Middle School. This decision marks a significant step in the district's commitment to providing exceptional educational leadership and fostering an environment of academic excellence.

Dr. Shawn Foster, superintendent of OCSD, expressed his enthusiasm for Dr. Williams' appointment. "I am proud to have such a caring, well-trained, and dedicated academician at the helm of what will be the new Lake Marion Middle School," Dr. Foster said. He emphasized the pivotal role of principals in educational success, adding, "It has been said that there are no good schools without good principals, and where you have good principals, great teachers come, they stay, and they work hard."

Dr. Williams brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having dedicated 25 years to serving public schools in both Georgia and South Carolina. Her academic background is extensive and impressive, including a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Administration from South Carolina State University (2005), a Master of Education in Administration from Charleston Southern University (2008), and a Doctorate in Education from Argosy University, Atlanta (2016).
 
“I am deeply honored and thrilled to serve as the principal of Lake Marion Middle School. This role is not just a position for me; it's a commitment to our students, teachers, and community. I am committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring both students and staff to achieve excellence together,” said Dr. Williams.

Her involvement in professional development opportunities is equally noteworthy. Dr. Williams is a graduate of the Orangeburg County School District’s Leadership Development Academy, the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDOE) Leadership Development Academy, and the SCDOE Office of School Leadership Foundations in School Leadership. Additionally, she is a member of the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching and a Personalized Learning Team Leader.

Throughout her career, Dr. Williams has held various positions, enriching her perspective and skillset in the educational field. She has experience as an elementary school teacher for grades 3-5, a middle school ELA, social studies, and character education teacher, an ISS instructor, resource teacher, and a personalized learning development coach. Most recently, she served as the Principal of Holly Hill-Roberts Middle School.

The Orangeburg County School District is confident that Dr. Williams’ extensive experience and dedication to educational leadership will greatly benefit Lake Marion Middle School and its community, and looks forward to the positive impact she will have on the students and staff.
