Hunter-Kinard-Tyler High School was filled with pride and celebration as senior football standouts Pierre Fogle and Tre Felder officially signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. Surrounded by family, teammates, coaches, and supporters, the ceremony marked a major milestone not only for the two athletes but for the entire Trojan community. Fogle signed with Clark Atlanta University, while Felder committed to Central Georgia Technical College, giving both young men the opportunity to pursue higher education while competing in college football.

HKT head football coach Jermaine Derricott emphasized the significance of the accomplishment in today’s recruiting landscape. “This is a huge achievement for these young men. With the transfer portal and the level of competition across the country, earning a chance to continue your education and play college football speaks volumes about their work ethic, character, and dedication. We are extremely proud of them and excited to see what they accomplish next,” Derricott said.

Both student-athletes expressed gratitude for their support systems. They thanked their parents, coaches, and teammates for helping them reach this moment, noting that football’s team-first nature played a major role in their development both on and off the field.

District leadership also recognized the broader impact of the signing day. Hayward Jean, Director of Student Services for the Orangeburg County School District, praised the athletes’ achievements and their example for younger students. “Talent can open doors, but character and academics are what keep you there. Pierre and Tre represent what we want for all our students: strong athletes, strong scholars, and young men prepared to lead. We are proud of them and know they will continue to represent this district with excellence,” Jean expressed.

The signing day served as a reminder that their success helps open pathways for future Trojan athletes. As they begin their college journeys, both Fogle and Felder carry with them the support of their school, their families, and a community eager to watch them succeed. Orangeburg County School District Superintendent, Dr. Shawn D. Foster mentioned, “Words like “proud” hardly do justice to what we see here today. These young men, and all the student-athletes here today, represent the very definition of leadership in action.”
