Lake Marion High School students Pauling and Capers sign with Erskine College

Lake Marion High School proudly announces that football standouts Treyvon Pauling and Carl Capers have officially signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at Erskine College. The signings represent an important milestone for the student-athletes and the school’s football program. Both players demonstrated leadership, dedication and perseverance throughout their high school careers, earning the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.

Pauling, a wide receiver known affectionately by teammates as “Lil E,” has been a consistent offensive threat and dependable leader for the Gators. Capers, a versatile athlete, contributed across multiple positions including tight end, receiver, outside linebacker, and strong safety.

Under the leadership of Head Football Coach and Athletics Director Jarvis Davis, the Lake Marion football program finished the season with an overall record of 5-6, placing second in the region. Both players played key roles in the team’s success on and off the field.

“They both played a major part in what we were able to accomplish this season. They were leaders throughout the team, on and off the field. They had to play many roles on the field and kept the team together. Carl is pretty much me on that field. I’m on the sideline, but he made sure everything went right. Treyvon is the quiet guy who does everything you ask, always on time, always where he’s supposed to be, and makes sure things are done the right way,” said Coach Davis.

Superintendent Dr. Shawn D. Foster also shared praise for the student-athletes and their accomplishment. “We are extremely proud of Treyvon Pauling and Carl Capers for reaching this milestone. Their dedication, discipline, and leadership reflect the excellence we strive to cultivate in the Orangeburg County School District. We wish them continued success as they represent Lake Marion High School at the collegiate level,” said Dr. Foster.

Both athletes have not only excelled on the football field but have also served as positive role models within the school community, helping keep teammates focused, accountable, and committed to success. Lake Marion High School congratulates Treyvon Pauling and Carl Capers on their signing with Erskine College and looks forward to watching them thrive at the next level.
