Orangeburg County School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Alethea Bryant-Dixon, Ed.S., as Assistant Principal of Marshall Elementary School. A highly accomplished educator, Bryant-Dixon brings a wealth of experience in instructional leadership, curriculum development, and community engagement to this new role.
With more than 15 years of service in public education, Bryant-Dixon has distinguished herself as a strategic leader and passionate advocate for student success. Most recently, she served as School-Level Instructional Facilitator and Instructional Coach at Bethune-Bowman Elementary School. Her leadership roles also include serving as Assistant Principal at the Willie Jeffries School of Excellence and Assistant Administrator at Vance-Providence Elementary School.
“Alethea Bryant-Dixon is an innovative and student-centered leader who brings an extraordinary depth of experience to Marshall Elementary,” said Dr. Shawn D. Foster, Superintendent of Orangeburg County School District. “As a former teacher and arts coordinator at Marshall, her return to the school community in this leadership role is both fitting and inspiring.”
Bryant-Dixon is no stranger to Marshall Elementary, having served for over a decade as the school’s art teacher and school-level arts coordinator. During that time, she led award-winning programs, mentored colleagues, and advanced arts integration across the district.
“I am honored to return to the Marshall Elementary family in this new capacity,” said Bryant- Dixon. “This school holds a special place in my heart, and I am committed to working collaboratively to support student achievement, empower educators, and continue the legacy of excellence.”
Bryant-Dixon earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from South Carolina State University, a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Art from the University of South Carolina, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Practice and Innovation at the University of South Carolina.
