The Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) is pleased to announce that the application window for its 2026 School Choice Program is now open, offering families expanded access to a variety of dynamic school environments and specialized programs designed to meet the diverse needs of students across the district.

Open from April 13 through June 30, 2026, the OCSD School Choice Program allows families with students in grades 1 through 12 to explore and request in-district school transfer options, empowering them to select learning environments that best align with their child’s interests, strengths, and future aspirations.

Through this initiative, families can access schools that offer a range of innovative academic programs and enrichment opportunities, including:

  • STEM and Career & Technical Education (CTE) pathways, preparing students for college and high-demand careers
  • Fine arts programs, including visual arts, music, and performance opportunities that nurture creativity and expression
  • Athletics programs that promote teamwork, discipline, and physical wellness
  • Student leadership and extracurricular activities, designed to build confidence, character, and real-world skills.

These offerings reflect OCSD’s commitment to the four A’s: academics, arts, athletics, and activities ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for every student.

“Providing families with meaningful choices in their child’s education is an important part of our responsibility as a district,” said Superintendent Dr. Shawn D. Foster. “Through the School Choice Program, we are reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that every student discovers and develops their person, purpose, and platform in a learning environment where they can thrive academically and personally.”

The program applies exclusively to in-district transfers, and families are encouraged to review available school options and program offerings prior to submitting their application.

Important Note:

Students enrolled in Pre-K and Kindergarten are required to attend their zoned schools and are not eligible to participate in the School Choice Program.

Families can access the application and view a full list of participating schools and programs by visiting www.ocsdsc.org/schoolchoice.

OCSD encourages all eligible families to take advantage of this opportunity and submit their requests within the designated application window.
