National Signing Day marked a proud moment for Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School as three standout football players, Derrick Thomas, Jaylen Dash, and Chris Glover, officially signed scholarship offers to continue their academic and athletic careers at Presbyterian College. The trio helped lead the Bruins to an impressive 10–2 overall record during the 2025 season, helping establish a new standard of excellence for Orangeburg-Wilkinson football not seen since the historic 10–2 seasons under Coach Les Evans in 1975 and Coach Stan Godfrey in 1979.

Derrick Thomas, a dynamic running back, emerged as a consistent leader and impact player for the Bruins. Known for his physical play, discipline, and relentless effort, Thomas earned All-Region honors and became a cornerstone of the program. His strong work ethic and competitive mindset played a major role in the team’s success this season.

Jaylen Dash, who played as an athlete for the Bruins, also received All-Region recognition after showcasing elite speed, versatility, and playmaking ability throughout the year. In addition to his regional honors, Dash was selected to participate in the prestigious South Carolina High School All-Star Blitz Game, highlighting him as one of the top players in the state. His next chapter at Presbyterian College is well deserved.

Chris Glover, a linebacker/nickel, rounded out the trio with his own All-Region honors, earned through toughness, consistency, and a true team-first approach. A dependable athlete and respected presence in the locker room, Glover represented Orangeburg-Wilkinson with character and pride. His scholarship signing reflects his dedication and growth both on and off the field.

Head Football Coach Benjamin Carter also praised the players’ accomplishments and impact on the program. “Derrick, Jaylen, and Chris have poured their hearts into this team and helped build a winning culture here at Orangeburg-Wilkinson. Their All-Region performances, leadership, and commitment to excellence are a big reason we finished the season 10–2. Watching all three sign together today is a proud moment for our entire Bruins family,” said Coach Carter.

These three young men exemplify what it means to be scholar-athletes, and Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School is proud to see them continue their academic and athletic careers at the next level. The school congratulates Derrick Thomas, Jaylen Dash, and Chris Glover on this tremendous achievement and thanks them for their lasting contributions to the football program and school community.

“These young men represent the very best of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. Their dedication to academics, athletics, and leadership has set a strong example for their peers. We are incredibly proud of these three young men as they take this exciting next step in their journey at Presbyterian College,” Dr. Shawn D. Foster, Superintendent for Orangeburg County School District.
